Reception - Transport and Journeys

Published: 28th June 2024

Recently, in Reception, we have been learning about journeys and transport in our topic "Are We Nearly There Yet?".

We have read "The Bus is For Us" and had a look at photos of old and new buses and different kinds of buses. We have noticed that some were double deckers and some had open roofs. We looked at and played with model buses and painted buses. We role played bus journeys making turns to be the driver, passengers and ticket collector.

In their independent play the children have been inspired to create construction sites and roadways, adding in signs and notices as well as developing lots of collaboration and problem solving. We also learned a new word "shimmering" and the children discovered shimmering powder to mix in their petal potions.
