What is Ofsted?
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. It reports directly to Parliament and is both independent and impartial. By law it must inspect schools with the aim of providing information to parents, to promote improvement and to hold schools to account.
Thurlby Community Primary Academy’s Ofsted Inspection (June 2024):
We are delighted to share the outcomes of our Ofsted inspection with you all. The inspectors carried out their rigorous inspection over the two days, which included deep dives into numerous subjects, lesson visits, discussions with staff and many pupils, meetings with school leaders and a scrutiny of books. They met with staff from; the school, the Trust, representatives from the local governing body, the board of Trustees and spoke with parents. During the visit, they also reviewed a wealth of documentation.
Perhaps, most importantly, the report confirms:
The inspectors concluded the following judgements:
Quality of Education – Good
Behaviour and Attitudes – Good
Personal Development – Good
Leadership and Management - Good
Early Years Provision – Good
These outcomes result in an overall effectiveness of GOOD for our school.
