We were delighted to welcome Darren Tinkler, of Roots to Food, back this week. Darren worked with Year 6, Reception and Year 1, separately, so the children could prepare and cook a tasty Italian dish. Each child was taught how to complete the ‘claw’ and ‘bridge’ to chop safely and they also learnt all about the nutritional value of the food whilst cooking. At the end of the session, the children were able to taste their efforts and there were empty plates all round. It was delicious!
