School Games Day

We have had a fantastic day participating in numerous sporting activities for our annual Thurlby Academy School Games Day. It is so wonderful to see children working together from different year groups – helping each other and cheering one another on.

We started with an opening ceremony, in the hall, where children had the opportunity to wave their banners of support. The children focused on the following School Games Values; teamwork, self-belief, passion, dedication, respect, and honesty. All adults chose 1 child, who was demonstrating a particular value, to receive a certificate at our closing ceremony assembly.

Many thanks to Mrs Sewell for organising this unique event and ensuring that our House Captains were on top form. Thank you, also, to the staff members and Dr Jagger, our Chair of Governors,  for helping to make this day a success.
