Year 1 - Science

Last week, in Year 1 science, the children became sensory scientists as we explored our senses of smell and taste! The children investigated four different herb pots, describing the smells and making thoughtful guesses about what they might be. We then tested our sense of taste by exploring the four main tastes: sweet (honey), bitter (dark chocolate), salty (popcorn), and sour (lemon). The lemon tasting created some fantastic facial expressions, which we were lucky enough to capture! It was a fun and engaging way to learn how our senses help us understand the world around us.
