Year 1 - Village Walk

Published: 13th October 2025

Year 1 enjoyed a wonderful walk around Thurlby as part of their learning about directions and local geography. The children explored the village, discovering where the old train station once stood and learning that Thurlby is shaped like a horseshoe.

Along the way, we discussed the features that make Thurlby a village and the children showed great curiosity about their surroundings.

The children were exceptionally respectful and polite to everyone they met — waving, smiling, and even greeting local residents with a cheerful “hola!” which brought many smiles in return. Well done year one!
