Year 2 - Farm to Fork

In Year 2, our Geography topic is 'Farm to Fork' and this week we were really lucky to have a visit from a local farmer, Mr Lyon. Mr Lyon told us all about his livestock farm, the animals they look after, what they feed them and where this food comes from. We got to look at and explore the food the animals eat, and we asked lots of brilliant questions to deepen our understanding. We couldn't believe it when Mr Lyon said they have over 400 animals at their farm, and he told us about buying and selling animals to provide food and to help other farmers by selling healthy animals. We learnt so much and really enjoyed listening to an expert in farming.
