Year 2 - Taking Flight

Year 2 have had a creative 2 weeks in English, following our whole school English 'Taking Flight'. We have used visual literacy to ignite their ideas and spark a love of writing. We returned from assembly last week, and our classroom had turned into space, we put on our space helmets and cuddled our teddies (we were bit scared) and ventured into space. When we landed, we saw a red wagon waiting for us to sit in, we all sat in the wagon and zoomed through space. We used our imaginations and created some wonderful vocabulary to help us with our writing. This week, we planned and wrote our own narrative of Tony going to space, we had our teddies as mascots and read our stories to them.
