On their trip to Rockingham Castle this week, Year 2 had the chance to see firsthand all the geography and history work they have been doing this term. The children impressed the tour guides with their knowledge of castles using vocabulary such as ‘motte and bailey’, ‘portcullis’ and ‘the keep’. They also asked lots of thoughtful questions. The children had a chance to look inside the castle as well as walk around the castle grounds. We had a wonderful day and the children showed many of our Thurlby values. Well done, Year 2!
