The Year 3’s started their session this week discussing what Stone Age people would have eaten and then searching the forest school area to find anything growing that could be eaten. They found sweetcorn, pumpkin, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots and radishes. The children told Miss Titman about their fruit tasting session in their DT lesson and how Stone Age people may have made fruit stew.
After this they gathered around the fire circle and reviewed the fire safety rules, which they all remembered. The children took turns to help Miss Titman make and cook the fruit stew, whilst the others had the challenge of building their own villages and creating defences to keep them safe. They are all looking forward to tasting the fruit stew, it smelt delicious when it was cooking.
