This week, Year 4 enjoyed a visit from local photographer and Thurlby parent, Mr Daniels. In anticipation of Mr Daniel’s visit, the children discussed and wrote many thoughtful questions to discover more about wildlife photography and barn owls. Mr Daniels shared some of his wonderful photographs of local wildlife (foxes, badgers, kingfishers and barn owls) and explained how he had been able to capture such amazing images. The class were also able to see pictures which Mr Daniels had taken in South Africa: squabbling hippos, a mud-covered lion and a beautiful portrait of a mountain gorilla. At the end of the session, the children voted for their favourite barn owl image which is to be the inspiration for their poetry writing over the coming weeks. Thank you, Mr Daniels, for providing such an informative and inspirational experience for our Year 4 children.
