Year 5/6 Football Competition

The Year 5/6 boys took part in the local schools Football Tournament hosted at Spalding Academy on Wednesday 1st November.   We arrived in relative sunshine but, as the games got underway, the heavens opened!  However, the squad showed great grit and determination, soldiering on with great enthusiasm in the adverse conditions.  Sadly, we lost the first three matches by increasingly narrow margins, but our confidence and team spirit had grown throughout and we then went on to win their fourth match.  The subsequent play-off was a 0-0 draw but we had hit the post 3 times in an exhilarating finale to seize 7th place out of 10 strong teams.  Well done and heartiest congratulations to the whole team for their unstinting sportsmanship.
