Girls’ Football Tournament

On Thursday 21st November, Mrs Sewell and Mr Davies took 11 of our Y5/6 girls to a football tournament at The University Academy in Holbeach. The girls did extremely well and showed great determination! They came second in their morning pool as they were beaten 1-0 by Moulton John Harrox but they were able to beat Bourne Westfield A team 1-0. This led to them coming second in their morning pool.

The afternoon started with Thurlby playing Market Deeping Primary School, which resulted in a 1-0 loss and then our team played Bourne Abbey, resulting in a 1-0 win. Due to these results, our Thurlby girl’s team came 4th out of 9 teams which was an incredible result for such a newly formed team.

Mrs Sewell would like to thank Mr Davies for all the time that he has spent training the team and would also like to congratulate all of the girls for the effort and passion that they displayed!
